The history of KOSMOZOO begins in 1996, when all its members went to school. None of them could play very good, except Valik Derkach who had graduated from the music school where he learned to play guitar and sometimes he strummed different rock' n' roll things or fragments from Pink Floyd. Igor Tarnopolsky had (and still has) a lyrical nature and was writing extremely sad songs. At that hard time a giant grew in the band. Stas till now with a heavy heart recalls the first cords struck on the "Roden" bass-guitar. But we had to quit with the rock' n' roll, because the leader was too "gloomy", or rather calm (he couldn't play like Little Richard, he couldn't even do it like Buddy Holly). Though he always liked to do a little drive. To upgrade the sound, the people were invited who didn't understand at all what was happening. Olga Kachurina was a background singer. She had an absolutely wonderful voice - clear, soft, but at the same time rather strong and unbearably good. However, they managed to sing together on the stage only once. It was the school farewell party. As the band members said, they were unbearably afraid, because of the huge crowd of people there who knew them and they knew almost everyone from the crowd.
