Hydrofish
Fall 2005 saw Hydrofish' debut album Out of the Ordinary hit the racks. The Amsterdam based young rockband has been playing together for years, despite their average age of only 20. Their potential clearly shows, because of their stage chemistry and the wicked voice of lead singer Astrid Kunst. Hydrofish is gradually starting to catch the public eye as some of the bigger and smaller Dutch radio stations are starting to play their debut single On Tour. Their sound is very distinct yet ever increasingly varied: mellow poprock with a lot of other influences shining through. What is carefully shining through now will problably establish itself more in their next album. As young musicians the Hydrofish crew is growing musically everyday. These guys have got a broad musical taste and an open-minded approach towards music which lets them appreciate some of the most peculiar compilations. Consequently their sound is influenced by a wide array of other styles and it will be interesting to see where it is going to take them. Four of the band members: leadsinger Astrid Kunst (18), guitarist Rolf Perdok (21) and the Bos brothers, drummer Paul (22) and Sander on keys (21), have started studying at the Amsterdam conservatorium in September 2005.
