Lukraaketaar

Lukraaketaar is a South African acoustic group consisting out of Pierre Greeff and Alwyn Kotzé. Their art is mostly in Afrikaans, one of South Africa's eleven official languages. They describe their lyrics as soulful words and their music as acoustic with kick. The groups' name, Lukraaketaar, is a combination of two words: lukraak, (random), and ketaar, which according to them is a word play on kitaar (guitar) and kommentaar (commentary). Lukraaketaar are known for their outspokenness and rhetoric questions in their lyrics. Pierre's voice is bass and in contrast, Alwyn's voice is very high. Alwyn Kotzé grew up in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and is a drama student. He likes Tequila and long, relaxing strolls on the beach. He also enjoys mixing cocktails. Pierre Greeff grew up in Bellville, South Africa and likes gholf, nice songs, and beer. When these two met each other in Stellenbosch, it marked the beginning of what is now Lukraaketaar. The two friends have known each other for more than four years and share a passion for music. They usually write their songs and music together, and hope their first EP with seven tracks, Fop Genade (sic) (Fake Grace), will influence people's lives positively in some way or another.
