Phatboy

Phatboy is an alternative band formed in 2011 by guitarist Tom Collins II, bassist Andrew Northrup, and drummer Simone Conigilaro. Tom and Simone started jamming in the summer of 2010, and reformed in a sense about a year later in June of 2011 with Andrew on the bass, Simone on drums, and Tom on guitar and [reluctantly] singing. Then in October of 2011, Phatboy found a new singer, Nathan Badgley. After several months of practicing with Nathan, he decided to resign in February of 2012, followed by Simone a week later. Then, about a week and a half later, Phatboy found a new drummer, Andrew Brommer. They took a hiatus for about 3 months. After some serious contemplation, Phatboy's direction turned to instrumental music that was based heavily on improvisation. In November 2012, Phatboy recruited keyboard player and vocalist Mike Houser, and vocalist Alvaro Hurtado, a week later, returning with a new style blending elements of all the members' favorite music. Phatboy is in the process of writing and recording an album, and focuses on playing live their unique mixture of alternative, indie, rock, and even jazz influence, all over the Philadelphia/South Jersey area.
