The source of inspiration for the band Transkapela is Jewish music culture of the area of the Carpathians from the turn of 19th and 20th centuries. It blends varied music plots shaped by many ethnic groups ( Jews, Poles, Ukrainians, Slovaks, Armenians, Gypsies, Germans, Hungarians) within the space of centuries. TRANSKAPELA - music once played by Jews on Hucul weddings, in Bukovina’s inns, on Galician fairs… TRANSKAPELA - music of the sources, creating inspiration for our own arrangements, compositions, and artistic quest of our group… TRANSKAPELA - music from the mystic world of beliefs and Carpathians legends handed down from generation to generation… TRANSKAPELA – music played with traditional instruments, with a huge dose of natural energy… In 2004 the band TRANSKAPELA performed in Paris on the Festival of Jewish Culture.
