The history of the band begins in 1998 in St. Petersburg, where, in the fall, on the club scene, Молоко (Milk) hosted the debut concert of Торба-на-Круче (pronounced Torba-na-Kruchye), composed of a total of five professional musicians. The first performance was very successful, followed by a short concert tour, and the first positive reviews in the press... It didn't take long for the music critics to turn up. After the Moscow-St. Petersburg tour, Торба-на-Круче started to really wow the stadium crowds, from St. Petersburg rock festivals Прорыв-01 (Breakthrough-01) and Окна Открой! (Windows Open!) to НАШЕствию-2001 (INVAsion 2001) (as well as 2002 and 2004) and many others. In the summer of 2001, Торба-на-Круче signed a contract with Бомба-Питер (Bomba-Piter) (published by Manchester Files) and recorded a debut album, Непсих, with sound engineer and sound producer, Андрей Алякринский (Andrei Alyakrinski) (Tequilajazzz), known for his work with such popular groups such as Чайф (Chaif), Marksheider Kunst, Ленинград (Leningrad), etc. The song, С дождя (Since the Rain), immediately climbed the charts onto the Чартовой Дюжине (Chart's Dozen) and to НАШЕм Радио (OUR Radio).
